1. Scope and Acceptance
These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the Monte Madeiral Village & Restaurant website, reservation process, accommodation services, restaurant-related services where applicable, and other services offered by us.
By accessing our website, making a reservation, or using our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, you should not use our website or complete a booking.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of use or booking will apply.
2. Reservations
2.1 Booking information
To make a reservation, the guest must provide complete and accurate information, including:
- Full name
- Valid email address and phone number
- Check-in and check-out dates
- Number of guests
- Selected room or accommodation type
- Payment details required to process the booking
The guest is responsible for ensuring all information provided is correct.
2.2 Reservation confirmation
A reservation is only considered confirmed once all of the following apply:
- The required deposit has been successfully paid
- A confirmation email has been sent by Monte Madeiral Village & Restaurant
- A reservation reference or confirmation record has been created in our system
2.3 Availability
All reservations are subject to availability at the time of confirmation. Availability shown before payment or before written confirmation is not guaranteed.
3. Prices and Payments
3.1 Prices
Unless otherwise stated, prices are presented in Cape Verdean Escudos (CVE) or in another currency shown on the website for reference purposes.
Room rates generally include accommodation in the selected room, access to common areas, Wi-Fi, and standard in-room amenities. Meals, drinks, transfers, restaurant consumption, event-related services, and other extras are only included where expressly stated.
3.2 Payment structure
Unless a different condition is clearly stated during the booking process:
- 50% of the total reservation amount is paid online at the time of booking
- The remaining 50% is paid at check-in at the property
3.3 Accepted payment methods
We may accept one or more of the following payment methods, depending on the booking channel and operational availability:
- Credit card
- Debit card
- Bank transfer
- Cash for eligible on-site payments
3.4 Secure payment processing
All online card payments are processed securely through the Vinti4 network and its payment infrastructure. Monte Madeiral Village & Restaurant does not represent that it independently operates the card-processing network itself. Payment transactions are handled through secure third-party payment systems integrated into our booking flow.
3.5 Tokenization and transaction notifications
For operations performed through card tokenization services used in connection with the payment process, the cardholder may receive an informative notification by email or SMS relating to the operation.
3.6 Price changes
We reserve the right to change prices at any time before a booking is confirmed. Once a booking is confirmed, the confirmed price will apply to that reservation, except where taxes, legal requirements, or obvious pricing errors require correction.
4. Direct Booking Conditions
For reservations made directly with Monte Madeiral Village & Restaurant through our official website, WhatsApp, email, or other direct approved channels, specific direct-booking advantages may apply when expressly advertised at the time of booking.
These may include:
- A welcome drink
- A small in-room courtesy gift
- More flexible cancellation conditions, where stated
Where offered, direct-booking cancellation benefits may include free cancellation up to 24 hours before arrival, subject to the rate conditions confirmed at the time of booking.
5. Check-in and Check-out
5.1 Standard times
- Check-in: 14:00 to 22:00
- Check-out: until 12:00
5.2 Late check-in
Check-in after 22:00 must be communicated in advance. We cannot guarantee late check-in without prior notice and written or verbal acceptance by our team.
5.3 Identification
All guests must present a valid identification document at check-in, such as a passport, national ID card, or other legally accepted identification, where required by applicable law.
5.4 Late check-out
Late check-out is subject to availability and may involve an additional charge.
6. Cancellations, No-Shows and Changes
6.1 General cancellation rule
Cancellation conditions may vary depending on the rate, package, booking channel, or promotional offer selected.
Where no specific rate condition states otherwise, cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice before arrival, as well as no-shows, may result in the loss of the amount already paid.
6.2 Direct booking cancellation
Where a direct-booking benefit expressly includes more flexible cancellation, the guest may benefit from free cancellation up to 24 hours before arrival, if this was clearly stated at the time of reservation.
6.3 Booking modifications
Requests to modify dates, number of guests, or other booking details are subject to availability and possible rate adjustments.
7. Guest Stay Rules
7.1 Conduct
Guests must behave respectfully toward other guests, staff, and the property. In particular, guests agree to:
- Respect quiet hours and the comfort of others
- Use rooms, furniture, and facilities with care
- Refrain from illegal, dangerous, or disruptive behaviour
- Follow any reasonable house rules communicated on-site
7.2 Smoking
Smoking is not allowed inside rooms or in any area where smoking is prohibited. Smoking may only take place in any designated outdoor areas, if provided.
7.3 Occupancy
The number of guests staying in each room must not exceed the permitted occupancy for that room unless expressly authorised by us.
7.4 Pets
Pets may only be accepted where approved in advance by Monte Madeiral Village & Restaurant. Additional conditions or charges may apply.
7.5 Damage
Guests are responsible for damage caused by themselves, their invitees, children under their supervision, or pets accepted under prior approval. We reserve the right to charge reasonable repair, replacement, or cleaning costs where damage occurs.
8. Property, Valuables and Liability
Guests are responsible for their own belongings during their stay. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Monte Madeiral Village & Restaurant is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to valuables, money, documents, or personal items unless such loss results directly from proven fault or legal liability on our part.
Any in-room safe or security feature provided is offered as a convenience and does not create unlimited liability on our part.
9. Access, Admission and Refusal of Stay
We reserve the right, to the extent permitted by law, to refuse admission or require a guest to leave the property where the guest:
- Provides false or misleading booking information
- Violates these Terms & Conditions
- Causes disturbance, risk, damage, or danger
- Uses the property for unlawful purposes
In such cases, refunds will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the reservation conditions in force.
10. Restaurant, Events and Other Services
Restaurant opening hours, menu availability, event conditions, and any additional services may vary according to season, operational needs, private bookings, availability, or prior reservation requirements.
Information on the website about the restaurant, events, transfers, packages, or other add-on services is subject to change and does not create a guaranteed entitlement unless confirmed in writing as part of the reservation or service agreement.
11. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delay, interruption, cancellation, or inability to fulfil obligations where this results from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, severe weather, power failures, telecommunications outages, public health emergencies, transport disruption, governmental measures, or other force majeure events.
12. Privacy and Data Protection
The processing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. By making a reservation or contacting us, you acknowledge that we may process your personal data as necessary to:
- Manage bookings and guest communications
- Process payments
- Comply with legal obligations
- Deliver requested services
- Send operational notifications relating to your reservation or payment
13. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, branding, logos, design elements, photographs, graphics, and other materials, is owned by or licensed to Monte Madeiral Village & Restaurant unless otherwise stated. It may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used without prior written permission.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in Cape Verde. Any dispute arising in connection with these Terms, the website, or a reservation shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Cape Verde, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
